Simply Hayes

My name is Stephanie and I am the owner of Simply Hayes. I want to give you a little background of how I started my small family owned business. I am Native American and grew up on a small reservation in South Dakota. Growing up I did not have the means to see how creative I could be. I grew up wanting to help people and studied psychology. I always thought that was my passion, but I am also a very empathetic person and it become very draining. I found myself drifting away because I found another passion, because I now have the means to do so. I was blessed and met my now Husband, Daniel, who encouraged me to do what made me happy. During the Covid era, I was going to school full time and was fortunate enough to not have to work a full time job. I had a little extra time between my studies and started creating personalized tumblers. It was then I realized I absolutely love art and just working with my hands. I would see something and bring it to life. But it didn’t stop there. My husband proposed to me in 2022, where I had to start planning our wedding. I looked at Pinterest and Etsy and found so many fun, creative ideas! But I wanted to be the one to create them all, because I love working with my hands and letting my mind roam. I then created all of our decor for the wedding, backdrops, signage, wedding favors, etc. The wedding of my dreams that I never thought was possible, I did! I absolutely loved doing it and wanted to continue to do it. I then started a small wedding design business, which did not do too well because I did not have the capability to advertise what I could do. Advertising had me in a hole, with not a lot of orders. It was not too long after my wedding I found out I was pregnant, Hayden Hayes. I then stopped really working on wedding decor, only here and there, and started thinking of ideas I could do for our next milestone! I decorated his nursery and thought, this is truly my calling! I found so much joy in creating decor and accents for his milestone pictures, holiday pictures, and just pictures in general to just have. Shirts we can wear as a family for different events, holidays, or just to wear because we are a matching family! Cups and tumblers we can have to celebrate the holidays. It all just made sense to me in what I wanted to do. I recently stopped working a full time job and decided it was time to pursue something I loved and be able to sty at home with my son and not have to miss any of his milestones, all while I help other families create their decor for their special milestones.

The name Simply Hayes was named after my son. I am doing this for him. I am stepping out of my comfort zone in all of this. I am doing this so I can be that example for him to go for your dreams and do what makes you happy. And creating things, being his mama and being a wife who can create core memories for us makes me truly happy.
